This project is a K-12 school designed for a rural town in eastern Colorado. The primary design intent was to combine traditional educational architecture with the evolving needs and capabilities that schools must meet, and to create a building that can also be used for public gathering. The school has classrooms from kindergarten through 12th grade, a center for welding/agricultural/drafting classes, and a library/fitness center that are available for town residents to use. It is a CHPS certified project, and currently under construction.
I worked on this project starting in the early conceptual and schematic design phases, and followed it through to the completion of the construction documents. My primary focus was on the exterior building character and materials, but I was involved with other areas of the design as well.

Addition to a historical restaurant in Aspen, Colorado. The design aimed to be minimally-invasive on the existing building, while also providing a contrast between the modern and historical architecture.
